Dear subscribers, we informed you a few days ago that we had reported a possible error to NOAA with the NOAA Time Series Trend calculation when using the “All Months” parameter. The negative trend seemed very high and did not match our calculation using the downloaded data.
We received an immediate and friendly response from NOAA and were provided with the email address of the NOAA department responsible for the trend calculation. A few days later we received a nice reply from that department.
“Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Indeed, when "All Months" is selected and 2023 is included, the computation is in error. The problem is in our queue to fix.”
So, our previous video will be permanently offline, and we will await a fix before publishing an amended version.
